These views are entirely personal to me: somehow my eye seems to fall on and take its satisfaction only from the old and the displaced. This has accidentally given my New York drawings an almost historical interest, for many of these dating from 25 or 15 or even 10 years ago have become records of whole neighborhoods that have since been torn down.
