Master Planning -

AAJ was among the first post-Independence Indian architectural firms of Delhi, dealing with the lakhs (hundreds of thousands) of refugees who had come in from Pakistan who needed to be relocated and housed.  So AAJ became town-planners as well as architects.

They started working with DLF (Delhi Lease and Financing started by Choudray Ragvendra Singh), and subsequently were called on for many of the layout plans which constitute modern Delhi.

From Model Town in the north to Punjabi Bagh in the west to Greater Kailash and South Extension in the South, they redrew the map of Delhi for over three decades.
