Springdales School - 1964
Springdales school was another prominent school established to serve the educational needs of the younger Indian generation. This was a new school project that the practice was responsible for and the relationship continued for a good number of years with drawings ranging from 1964-1978.
The layouts display familiar themes of light, airy classrooms linked by open verandahs overlooking courtyards. This results in pleasant environments for buildings occupied and used by large numbers of pupils and staff able to circulate between various parts of the building with comfort.
The concrete frame construction is a commonly used and practical response to a need to provide buildings that have to withstand the rigours of a large number of boisterous users and a speedy construction programme.

Exterior Aesthetic & Texture
The aesthetic language is also a familiar AAJ theme - an external composition comprising of an exposed structural frame and the rhythmic regularity of recessed openings between textured concrete panels. The texture derives from the embedding of grey stone chippings on the concrete surface of the panel.
